About Dave Reid

December 17, 2002 - Vancouver, B.C. - Richmond CGA firm Reid Hurst Nagy and the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia Educational Foundation have announced the creation of the David B. Reid Scholarship for CGA students. The award is named for Richmond Certified General Accountant David Reid who died November 4, 2002, after a brave battle with cancer.

The $1,000 award will be given to the CGA student achieving the highest examination mark in Auditing 2 of the CGA program. "Dave was always a very positive and supportive individual and was committed to learning and teaching," says business partner John Nagy. "This scholarship really epitomizes his personal commitment to education."

Partner Bruce Hurst said the scholarship represents Mr. Reid's professional commitment to auditing. "Dave and his partners developed a strong auditing focus in their practice and he was always seeking to blend the theory of auditing with its practical application," said Mr. Hurst. "This scholarship will go a long way to achieving this goal and it will stand as tribute for years to come while enhancing the profession he was so proud of."
